Fitness Tools

Over the last few years I have found and used some fantastic fitness tools to loose weight, the following list of tools are of some of the more notable ones and ones that I continue to use. When it comes to tools and data in general,  I am a bit of a data geek, I love recording the data to improve how I can respond in the future, knowing what is going in (even on the days I slip up) and how best to manage these situation.

I am currently and have been using my fitness pal to track all of the calories I eat and work off at the gym, using this free tool allows you to not only take it anywhere on your phone, but with their well utilized API, means most applications can be linked to myfitnesspal. Giving you one central location for tracking everything in and out.

BoditraxImage result for boditrax

Boditrax is a great tool for monitoring your weight, I tend to do this once a week (on a Saturday), which gives me a good overall feel for where I am. In addition to knowing weight it also lets you know other information such as where the fat is, metabolic age and also allows you to set goals.

MapmyWalk / MapmyRide

Both really good tools in the arena and it is really easy to link back into myfitnesspal. Any time I go on a walk or ride i fire up the application and it starts tracking everything based on your GPS positioning and feeds this back into myfitnesspal.

LFconnect

Now, this is really dependent on what your gym supports, my gym has Life fitness equipment and for this you need LFConnect, simply log in to the machines touch display with your mobile number and pin and its tracks your workout, allows you to set custom workouts and best of all, feeds back into myfitnesspal.
