Loosing weight is less of an art and more of a mathematical equation ..

A healthy diet + more exercise = weight loss

120 days ago (around 4 months in real terms) I decided to get … whats that saying? ON IT! And in these four months I have now lost 46 lbs (around 3 stone – or just over!)… 45 lbs short of my target , which is now looking ever more achievable.

Just to put this into some sort of context, the weight of a small child around the age of six years old is usually around the same weight!

So, how have I done this?

Lets take a look back at that equation…

A healthy diet

When people hear these three dreaded words panic usually sets in.. no more pizza, no more fatty foods … You may even think you have to start the newest craze diet that the latest hot model amazing lost 12 stone in 5 days…

This simply is not true! I eat pizza, I dont diet, I have never picked up a book on dieting AND I dont give all my money to weight watchers or similar weight loss organisations that sell you everything including the air you breath…

Just eat sensibly! If you are going to go down the local greasy spoon fry up for an odd feast… FINE! Do it! Just be aware that you may need to have something healthy to stay within you calorie goal for the day. And, this is where Myfitnesspal comes in… scan scan scan! Scan everything…. have some awareness of what you are putting in your body!

Common excuses, with the top one being repeated twice, because I hear it all the darn time! If you want to loose some weight, put in the time … loose the weight and then scale back the number of days your spending at the gym.

DOnt go crazy, have a few days off and find something you enjoy…. I absolutely love Cardio tennis or just tennis in general! Makes loosing calories fun, and usually burns between 700 and 800 calories in a one hour session.

Finally, just have fun. Dust off those old gym clothes that have been sitting in the draw, sign up to a gym and just go!

Today has been a day off for me, letting my muscles take into the absolute cardio challenge that Cardio tennis was/is.

Tomorrow I will be back at the gym.. ready to go… and looking to hit my goal of 90 lbs (around 7 stone) in weight loss 🙂
