Welcome back – not just for you – but for me too!

It has been exactly 1,665 days since my last blog post, 4 years and 6 months!

In that time, the world has kept turning, and interestingly, based on the guardian saying in 2018 that 250 babies are born per minute, there would have been 602,250,000 babies born into the world since I posted last. With that in mind, let’s crack on!

Since 2017, a lot has changed in my life in regards to weight. Whilst the following is a story about a thin guy who has put on weight if you read it in reverse – it’s a way more positive story!

Let’s first go back to 2017, probably at the thinnest, I have ever been – I would estimate that at this point I would have been around 14 stone! Thinking back now on this time – it is a really good feeling when clothes ‘just fit!’.

Let us fast forward now to May 2018, I’d gone from super thin and healthy to overweight in a short space of time. I think it’s really easy to forget all the good habits and before you know it – it soon adds on! Here is a picture of me on my Stag do in May 2018. Clearly not in as good shape as in 2017! 2018 was also the year that I married my beautiful wife!

2019 came and a few new big projects with work came along, the exercise took another back seat in my life, and work (and the balance between work and family time) came more into focus. The hardest thing with success is the sacrifices that must be made to get there! People often do not see the sacrifices. To give an example of this, both my IT company and my entertainment company in 2019 took on some large projects, both companies doing fairly well with me struggling to ‘do it all myself – a thing you often find in businesses experiencing rapid growth. Fortunately, since around 2019 I have employed staff to support the growth and to provide me more time, allowing me to swing the balance between work and spending time with my family.

Fast forward to 2022, and this is a recent one of me:

So – what’s the plan?!

Small Steps using the tools I have used before to achieve the goals that I have set out.

The first step is just to start walking more, nothing too unmanagable but increased walking should help me to make that first real step back into the Gym.
